When we work one to one together I will help you focus on creating a sustainable fitness regime that is practical and long-term. I want to make sure you come away with an understanding of how to exercise in a way that works to your strengths so that you can create lifelong habit.
This means taking an interest in exactly how your day-to-day life is structured and how you see exercise. I want to examine whether training is a 'should' for you, and something routed in feelings of procrastination and therefore worry. Or perhaps you just don't know where to start or have had experiences in the past where gyms have not worked out for you.
In our sessions I will work to find exercise you enjoy, that feels right for your body, and that creates a stronger more mobile version of you. Strength is a real focus, stronger heart and lungs, stronger muscles, stronger understanding of how to keep up a regime and get back to it when things get in the way.
On a practical level we usually start with a few mobility and strength tests this helps me to identify what we should focus on, along with the information you give me about any discomfort or what your goals may be.
Goals vary from client to client, sometimes these could be 'I want to improve my posture', 'I want to manage my mental health', 'I want to feel stronger' or 'I want to work out regularly and commit to a routine'.
I will then create a plan that we work on in our sessions, I'll guide you through different exercises, and be here to coach you to reach your full potential. I am here to challenge any mindset you have about not being fit enough or strong enough or unable to do certain exercises.
I will also follow up each session with a plan for what I want you to do in between our sessions, creating a routine for your week that compliments our training sessions.
If you have a friend or partner with similar goals I have the space to work with two people at a time, and this can create a really fun group dynamic, added accountability and connection.
